It appears to be a bounty of nature. As a bird fanatic, being surrounded by over 120 species of residential birds and migratory birds, gliding high up in the sky, I found heaven here. These species comprise Partridges, Falcons, Eagles, Vultures, Buzzards vultures, Bee-Eaters, Shrikes, Larks, Demoiselle Crane, Macqueen’s Bustard, Sandgrouse, Long-Legged and Honey. Lark's and Wheatears are abundant in water resources. Every year, the number of migratory birds gather at Gadsisar Sagar lake - a tourist place in Jaisalmer.
And there is the species which always persuades the viewers towards itself providing them with a magnificent glimpse of itself. It is the endangered Great Indian Bustard. This star species is also known for being the heaviest flying bird in the world. It is brown and white in colour, having long limbs and a long neck - supporting its one metre tall stature. It can be found in huge numbers in Desert National Park dwelling near the Sudhashree.
Apart from birds, there is a wide variety of fauna you can spot. The spiny-tail lizard, desert monitors, deadly vipers and Krait may amuse you - bringing you closer to nature.
