Goram Ghat
If you ask me what is Goram Ghat, I would simply describe it as ‘Kashmir of Mewar’ - as it is popularly known. My first trip to this nature’s treasure trove, as a professional wildlife photographer, was enlightening. I encountered unusual beauty of birds, wildlife, undulating and adventurous landscape and more. Nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers have a lot to capture here for a lifetime.
So, let us start with Goram Ghat’s geographical location. The place is located near Kachhbali village, Deogarh in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. It is a hilly stretch situated at a height of 900 metres passing through the Aravalli Hills. Reaching this tricky ghat section by train is more than what meets the eyes. The train passes through an adventurous route that crosses 2 tunnels and 172 small and large bridges. The rail track to the Goram Ghat Forest Reserve was constructed in 1932 by Englishmen. The project was accomplished with the help of former Maharana of Mewar. The railway line in this ghat section is truly an engineering marvel.
Deeper at the heart of Goram Ghat lies a waterfall that is 50 feet wide and 500 metres high. There are many more small waterfalls in the region that are enough for an exciting excursion. The waterfalls are divided in between with rocks and stones which serve as perfect picnic spots for visitors.
There is even trekking for adventure seekers. The most amazing trek in Goram Ghat lies behind the railway station and goes up to the Gorakhnath Temple. This trek also takes us towards Bagor Ki Nal bridge near Old Phulad, an ancient village.
And now coming to my core interest, I came across several species of birds like Alpine Swift, Paradise Fly Catcher, Red Spurfowl and Indian Pitta. Common animals inhabiting the place include Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Four Horned Antelope, Panther and Hyena. You can also find a number of medicinal plants in the Dhok Forest that spans Goram Ghat. Hence, the place is fairly rich in biodiversity. If you have been asked to write an essay at university, seek the help of professionals at papertyper.net and get your papers on time and safely.
